100 years of nuns in Ticino S. Anna Clinic Sorengo above Lugano

Called by Bishop Bacciarin, a group of nuns from the Order of Sant  Anna, founded in the Canton of Lucerne at the beginning of the century and dedicated to the care of mothers and children, settle in Ticino in 1922. The nuns are present in many clinics in the canton until the 1930s when they bought a piece of land in Sorengo and founded the Clinica Sant'Anna, dedicated entirely to children. Since then, the nuns have been a constant presence in the institution, which has expanded and diversified over the decades without abandoning the original idea of charity.
The journalist Maria Grazia Buletti has interviewed numerous contemporary witnesses who worked at the clinic to trace a history in pictures, a mosaic that represents a medical reality close to the hearts of the people of Ticino.
